About / Beau Harris

Different work.
Same problem.

Blue Tape Projects is the official public portfolio of Beau Harris, an Austin-based creative producer and project builder working across film, media, theatre, spatial design, fabrication, live events, and practical construction.

I like projects where the creative idea and the practical answer have to be figured out together.

Sometimes that means helping turn an early script into a production. Sometimes it means building a theatre set, redesigning part of a business, making a temporary installation, or finding a way to make a small space do several jobs.

I can help shape the plan, work through the logistics, build the physical pieces, coordinate the people involved, or step into something that's stalled and get it moving again.

Film taught me how to get complicated work done with limited time and money.

I began in theatre on scholarship, working year-round in a paid role in our scenic shop before relocating to Austin in January 2006 to pursue film. Early work on Friday Night Lights and Grindhouse Presents: Planet Terror led me behind the camera and into production, where I learned how budgets, schedules, crews, locations, vendors, and contracts all connect.

I kept building alongside production, first as side work and eventually as a regular part of my career: sets, furniture, signs, counters, displays, remodels, and whatever else a project calls for. That mix of production logistics and hands-on problem solving still shapes how I approach every project.

I also write and host a new four-round trivia night each week at Industry. It combines research, game design, visual material, live pacing, and crowd work, and the venue is increasingly organizing its event calendar around the night as it grows.

My construction background also includes full-time ground-up shed building and commercial restaurant finish work, including custom woodworking for Chuy's through John King Construction. That range matters: I am comfortable moving between one-off details and work that has to coordinate across a much larger build.

We Luv Video is where those skills overlap most clearly. I'm a board member and Technical Director, and I've designed, built, and continued adapting the physical storefront and the microcinema's physical space.
